The Children’s Ministry of Ikoyi Baptist Church caters for children ages Day 1 to 12 years. The children are divided into 5 age groups: Day 1 to 2 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-12 years. We have an average number of 300 children in the ministry. The number of teachers is about 60. The Children’s Sunday School is under the Children’s Ministry and there are 4 Sunday School classes.
The major programs we hold are:
• Easter Outreach- Held on Easter Saturday. The children are taken out for evangelism outreach to identified areas or institutions with the aim of sharing the gospel and presenting gifts.
• Children’s Day/Concert- This is held to mark the annual Children’s Day in May. The concert is held in the evening while the Children’s Day is held in the morning. The children officiate at the worship services except preaching.
• Special Prayer – This is held in June to commit our children to the hands of the Lord.
• Christmas Party- Held in December to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Other Programs:
1. Children Teachers’ Training- Held in February and November of every year.
2. Teachers’ Preparatory class held every last Thursday of the month.
