IBC’s involvement in international missions’ work dates back to the year 2006 and 2008 when the Church sponsored four members who went with other members of the Global Missions Board of the Nigerian Baptist Convention to Sierra Leone, the foremost International Mission Field of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. This team was used by God to re-establish the mission efforts of our Convention after the prolonged Civil war that ravaged the entire country.
As part of her deliberate plan and action towards the accomplishment of our Lord’s mandate in all the nations of the world, IBC agreed to enter into collaborative efforts for International Missions with New Estate Baptist Church (NEBC), Surulere. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was jointly prepared and adopted by the two Churches and plans concluded to begin from Burkina Faso where NEBC is currently working. The MoU which has as part of its core objectives: Church Planting, capacity building through Discipleship/Leadership Training and development among the locals, and infrastructural development, provides for other likeminded Churches to join in the collaboration.
